Fourth Chapter

Sarah Whitefield has teamed up with her sister Jessica, and Christian Rocchi, to bring us her fourth venture in the café industry. She won our hearts with Sardi, Muharam, and Trei, and has now moved into Prahran to spread the salubrious sunshine on a plate (and in my cup). Only 2 days old, its yellow, green, happiness, and caffeine. The fit out is lively, with clean white walls, lots of hanging greenery, and polished floorboards throughout. The timber top coffee counter houses a stylish customized La Marzocco Strada MP, and towers of bright yellow Acme cups. The Yellow bags of Niccolo coffee sit neatly upon the timber shelving, accentuating that energetic vibe.

Speaking of energetic, the menu will leave you feeling invigorated in that natural way the body loves. Dishes range from Baked Rhubarb, Apple, & Blackcurrant Granola (which is both dairy and gluten free), Paleo toast with avocado & lemon, Beetroot & Cheddar Waffles with hot smoked salmon & crème fraiche, and French Toast with forest mushrooms & parmesan cheese. That’s just breakfast! Lunch offerings include Sweet Potato Fries with Sriracha aioli, Thai Peanut Zoodles, and Southern Fried Chicken Bao.

Coffee is roasted by Niccolo, and they have all the right gear to brew it, including a brand new La Marzocco Strada MP, Nuova Simonelli Mythos One grinder, and EK43. I decided to try the single origin of the day, which was the Guatemala Huehuetenango. The ever so friendly barista extracted a rich, creamy long black, with toffee and cocoa notes. Served in a vibrant yellow Acme cup, it wasn’t too long before I lost myself in the moment, and soaked up the warm sunshine flowing through the large front windows.
