“Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way.”
Take a bow, Campos. The new look suits you!
Campos Carlton underwent a total transformation, and its new layout and design is the polar opposite to its former look. Gone are the dark walls, exposed brick features, and dim lighting. In comes a fresh vibrant fit out, with white walls, pale timber features, and lots of greenery that’s in harmony with the iconic Campos logo. We now have full view of the roastery, which is behind the lab like illuminated feature wall. The new layout seems to have created more space. There’s an elongated communal bench, ample window seats, and a warmly lit nook with banquette seating. They have quick and easy breakfast and lunch options, like Bacon & Egg Bocadillos, Granola, Artisan sourdough toast and Croissants with gourmet fillings, fresh pastries, and a selection of salads.
In true Campos fashion, you’re spoilt for choice, with two espresso options, batchbrew, cold drip, aeropress, and Chemex.
In true Tess Presso fashion, I opted for a single origin espresso shot.
In my cup?
Colombian Rodriguez Ospina.
This microlot is from a farm in Huila, and is a Caturra varietal that was grown at around 1715 meters above sea level. It’s a washed process, so my cup had a clean juicy body, with red apple and grape notes.
