Tucked away down South Melbourne’s ‘Wynyard Street’, this unassuming cafe is the second project from the team that brought us Giddiup, in South Melbourne. If you know where the homewares store ‘Made in Japan’ is located, then you won’t have any problems finding its neighbour, Wynyard.  Much like its sister cafe, Wynyard is focused on serving quick healthy meals, with locally sourced produce.

The decor is simple, with plywood tables, shelving, and partition that separate the rear open kitchen from the relaxed dining area. Lots of natural light beams in from above, creating an airy atmosphere.

The menu is delightfully healthy, with mouth-watering options like the Blueberry, lavender & ricotta hotcakes topped with mascarpone; House tea smoked salmon; and Pork Belly & chimichurri tortillas.

Coffee is roasted by Single Origin in Sydney, and in the hopper was the Ethiopian Gedeb, from the Gedeo Zone. This washed Heirloom had the most beautiful peach flavours, with a wonderful floral aroma.
