I made the trek out to Flemington this morning, and visited this petite gem, tucked away from busy Racecourse Road. Owner Luke named the cafe in honour of his beloved Irish Wolfhound and Greyhound.
The interior is fresh and has a warm inviting feel. The tiny kitchen behind the coffee counter serves Dr Marty crumpets with house made lemon curd, Baked garlic broccoli with cheddar & pickled mustard, and Slow cooked pork shoulder rolls with swiss cheese and ham. The counter is adorned with Butterbing Cookie Sandwiches, and today’s offerings include Coconut, Vanilla Bean, and Salted Caramel.
The sleek 2 group Linea is a reflection of the size of this jewel, which faces New Market station. chocolate flavours. Coffee is by Rumble, and today’s filter brew was the Kenyan Wathenge, while the single origin espresso was the Guatemalan Puerta Verde. It was in fine form this morning. My long black had a full body, with cherry chocolate notes.
