“Addiction – When you can give up something any time….. as long as it’s next Tuesday”.
I’m a self confessed coffee addict, so if the name of this place is anything to go by, then it’s made for people like me. Last time I was here, it was a flash in the pan visit for a takeaway coffee. Back then, Greg was the owner, and they were using Padre coffee. Today finds me with more time to sit and soak up the natural sunlight; and appreciate the attention to detail that has been a cornerstone of this popular Fitzroy spot. Addict is now part of the CCC Group, and uses coffee roasted by AUSeventynine.
It still is the case that coffee and food addicts can feed their habit with delight. Quite literally. A sample of the menu includes Chocolate Fondant Pancakes with raspberry & rosella froyo, Smoked Salmon Rillette, and The Grilled Cheese Kransky Big Breakfast, with crispy bacon and spicy apple relish.
In true Tess form, I had my usual morning fix- an espresso. Today’s Single Origin was a natural Burundi, from North Kirundo. As a long black, it had jammy berry notes, with hints of spice. I also had a Colombia filter brew, roasted by ACOFFEE. This washed lot delivered a clean body, with cherry and stone fruit nuances.
