Counter

Back in 2013, the brains behind Auction Rooms opened up Counter across the road on Errol Street, to give takeaway customers the quality of service one receives at Auctions Rooms.

As the name insinuates, this younger sister of Auction Rooms is more of a pit stop to refuel, which concentrates on quick eats, take away coffee, and brews that can be consumed while standing at the timber benches along the walls. There’s no kitchen, but they bring breads and croissants in from Tivoli Road, and also have a selection of cakes made in-house.

A classic La Marzocco Linea pumps out the Candyman Blend, which is made up of two washed Colombia beans, and a washed Ethiopian Limu.  It delivers a sweet balanced espresso, with a creamy body both with and without milk.   They also serve filter coffee, and todays’ offering was the Kenyan Ndocha Estate.  Brewed via the Fetco, this washed processed Kenyan was sweet and clean, with hints of rhubarb.
