The team at Little Rogue have spread their wings, and ventured out into Little Collins Street. Shamble Coffee Brewers has filled the void left by All Good Coffee, which formerly occupied this clean unobtrusive space. It took them a few months of hard work to get the place fit for service, including a major clean out and rebuild of the main bar. They’ve kept it as a standing room only space, and are focused on coffee, with the addition of a few pastries and doughnuts. Brandon and Jen are at the helm of the classic La Marzocco Linea, serving both a house blend and single origin beans from ACOFFEE. They also brew filter and cold brew coffee, with a Kenyan Karatina on the menu this week, which tastes like blackcurrant juice.
I needed my customary long black to kick start my day, which was made up of a blend of washed Ethiopian Yirgacheffe heirloom beans, and a washed Colombian Caturra lot from San Agustin. It delivered a balanced cup, with a clean body that wasn’t heavy, and had notes of praline.
