No. 84

“People will stare, make it worth their while” (Harry Winston). Agi and Jon have done just that at No.84, a charming cafe in Albert Park.

Upon entering, I discovered an alluring space decorated with an abundance of floral arrangements, sourced locally at The Green Room.  Old timber crates line the walls, adding a rustic feel; while a feature log hangs above the La Marzocco FB80, exhibiting pretty purple orchids and flowering succulents. There’s even a sunny courtyard out back, and a business hub upstairs for corporate functions.

The menu has an Asian influence, with breakfast options such as the Peking Duck omelette; Benedict rosti; Bulgogi Beef Burger with kimchi & yuzu mayo; and Pork Belly Salad with Szechuan spices.

Coffee is by Zest, and both espresso and filter options are available.
I enjoyed a long black in the single origin of the day –  El Salvador Finca El Ingenio. It had a rich body with toffee and hazelnut notes.

Needless to say, the coffee was a true reflection of my experience at no.84. First impressions are the most lasting.
