I did the full circle, and ended up meeting the Two Skinny Pickles. aka. Daniel and Jerome. Yet another hole in the wall cafe, this time it’s on busy Elizabeth Street, directly opposite Central Station. Coffee is sourced from Five Senses, and serve both as espresso and Nitro brew. The Mesh Shade Pendant light features are sourced from Melbourne, and add a rustic touch to the fresh interior. Apart from the coffee and light features, everything else is made on site, including the chilli sauce. These guys even make their own Kombucha, will refreshing flavours like Blood orange and Cinnamon, and Beetroot and Dill.
The small glass display up front is loaded with superfood salads, Croque Monsieurs, brekkie rolls, brownie sandwiches, and organic pastries.
Todays coffee of the day is the Rwandan Coko, which is best described as a pineapple punch. Located in the Gakenke District, the Coko washing station is a female run co-operative, under the 3 African Sisters banner. It’s coffee that tastes good, and does good for the hardworking Rwandan farming community.
