Where else but Shortstop, the Melbourne born doughnut shop, that also serves Specialty Coffee. Much like the Melbourne store, Foolscap Studio designed this small space filled with sweet deliciousness. Those iconic arches are a prominent feature, as is the Classic La Marzocco Linea on the front counter.
Coffee is roasted in Melbourne by Market Lane, and todays single origin offering was the Guatemalan El Pilar. This washed Bourbon/Typica varietal was grown at 1500-2000 metres above sea level, and roasted in Prahran, just south of Melbourne’s CBD. My long black was sweet, with orange and smooth butterscotch notes.
Now for the Doughnuts. Choices range from Maple Walnut & Brown Butter, Triple Matcha, Earl Grey & Rose, and Strawberries & Cream, to name a few.
