Forget the trouble makers, and focus on the coffee makers.
That’s exactly what one does when visiting Maker Fine Coffee.
The couple behind this North Street Roastery, John and Stephanie Vroom, have
spent the past two years building a name for themselves. I remember walking
into this converted warehouse for the first time last year, and being in awe of
John, who designed and built it all himself, from welding table frames, to
tiling the long front counter.
Coffee is roasted on site on a trusty 12kg Probat, and menu
offers a selection of espresso and pour over options, from their Maven
Colombian blend, through to whatever is in season.
Today is was a Kenyan, from
Gakayuini. I had it as a filter brew, and enjoyed its sweet berry and grape
flavours, common to coffee from this area.
