Being charming requires charisma and time, and Agi Nolan of ‘No.84’ has been rather busy for the past few years at this sparkling jewel in the Albert Park crown.
Her fetching smile is the first thing to greet you upon entry, followed by entering into an alluring space, decorated with an array of hanging greenery, repurposed crates, and timber furnishings. The venue’s rustic feel drifts into the courtyard at the back of the restaurant.
Agi’s husband Jon heads up the kitchen, and has designed a menu with an Asian influence. Breakfast options such as the Peking duck omelette; Benedict rosti; and Kaya French Toast with a Malaysian Coconut Jam.
Coffee is roasted by Zest, and both espresso and filter options are available.
I enjoyed a long black in the Blackbird blend, which is made up of beans from Colombian, Brazil, and Ethiopian. As a long black, it was bold with dark chocolate and toffee notes. This blend works best with milk, delivering a cup that’s filled with malt chocolate and caramel cookie notes.
